Legionella bacteria pose a significant health risk, especially in water systems such as hot water installations, air conditioning systems, and swimming pools. Infection caused by these microorganisms—legionellosis—can lead to severe respiratory illnesses, including pneumonia. At ANCHEM Testing Laboratory, we offer comprehensive tests for the presence of Legionella in water, allowing for early detection of risks and the implementation of appropriate preventive measures.

LEGAL BASIS FOR LEGIONELLA TESTING

European Union regulations:

  • Directive (EU) 2020/2184 concerning the quality of water intended for human consumption.

Polish legislation:

  • Regulation of the Minister of Health of November 7, 2019, regarding the quality of water intended for human consumption (Journal of Laws 2019, item 2294).
  • Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of July 12, 2002, on the technical conditions buildings and their location must comply with (Journal of Laws 2002, No. 75, item 690, as amended).

SCOPE OF TESTING

Our analyses include:

  • identification of the presence of Legionella spp. in water samples,
  • determination of colony-forming units (CFU) according to current standards.

Why Test Hot Water for Legionella?

  • Health safety – Legionella presents a real threat, especially in environments where water is aerosolized (e.g., showers, air conditioners).
  • Regulatory compliance – regular testing is required in public places such as hotels, hospitals, and swimming pools.
  • Reputation protection – early detection of the bacteria helps prevent potential health and legal issues.

Our Testing Services Are Available For:

  • companies managing water installations,
  • hotels and accommodation facilities,
  • medical facilities,
  • swimming pools and spas,
  • residential communities and building management.

HOW DO WE OPERATE?

  • Sample collection – water samples are collected in accordance with sanitary guidelines to ensure reliable results.
  • Laboratory analysis – we use modern microbiological methods to accurately detect the presence of Legionella.
  • Report and recommendations – we provide a detailed results report along with recommendations for further actions.
